Finding the perfect way to wrap cylindrical items like bottles or rolled-up clothing can be challenging. In this tutorial, we’ll guide you through a simple yet elegant method of using paper bags to wrap tubular gifts and there’s not even any tape involved! By repurposing common materials, you’ll create a polished presentation that showcases both creativity and environmental consciousness, and best of all, saves you money.
Supplies
- pair of scissors
- paper shopping bags
How to
1. If you are wrapping clothes, roll it up, otherwise your gift should be tubular shaped.
2. If your paper bag has handles, remove the handles.
4. Cut open and flatten your paper bag so it is one big sheet of paper.
5. If paper bag doesn’t have handles cut a 1″ wide strip for ribbon. This can be cut from the long or short side of the paper sheet depending on the circumference of the gift.
One Relevé Design fan, Jolyn, tried out the rolled technique with a manilla envelope and a handle from another shopping bag to wrap her husband’s sweater. The envelop wasn’t wide enough to completely enclose the ends. She stood it up on it’s end and stuck a Santa hat on it. Now that’s thinking on your toes! Great job, Jolyn!
